Two tenure-track faculty positions

Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering (MAE) Department of the Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering (CSoE) at Clarkson University invites applications for two tenure track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank (anticipated starting date: August 2009).  A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Biomechanics or related area is required. Applications are encouraged from individuals whose research programs can contribute to areas of: (1) advanced materials/biomaterials, (2) biomechanics/bioengineering, (3) renewable energy including solar energy, nuclear energy, and/or (4) innovation and entrepreneurship, which are within the interdisciplinary focus areas of the university. 
Clarkson’s MAE Department offers B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering, and M.E., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering.  Successful candidates will be expected to teach fundamental undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical/aeronautical engineering, and develop strong funded research programs. Applicants need to articulate a clear and substantiated vision of how their background can lead to sustained accomplishments through teaching, research, and an ability to engage in interdisciplinary activities and projects within one of the focus areas identified above.
